Faye Kirkland

Dr Faye Kirkland is a multi-award winning journalist, who has reported and investigated for BBC Panorama, Today, The Times and national TV news. She is also a working General Practitioner.

Faye Kirkland is a multi-award winning freelance investigative journalist and a working General Practitioner. She qualified as a doctor in 2005 and also has a degree in Neuroscience from the University of Birmingham. In 2013, she obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Broadcast Journalism from Cardiff University and two years later she is a mentee of the John Schofield Trust.

Faye has researched and reported investigations for TV, radio and print outlets including: Panorama, BBC News, BBC Breakfast, Radio 4, Newsnight and the Guardian. Her ground-breaking investigations have been discussed in the House Commons and led to changes in regulation. She continues to work as a General Practitioner in London, as well as regularly providing out of hours care.

In 2019 she was won the prestigious annual HealthWatch Award.

Gillian Capewell

GIllian is a media advisor with more than a decade of experience working as a dedicated media and internal communications advisor at the heart of local and central government. With diverse experience ranging from health, finance to business and energy. She has worked with high profile individuals from ministers to CEOs and other high profile figures.

Gillian Capewell has more than fifteen years' experience working as a dedicated media and internal communications advisor at the heart of local and central government. With a diverse portfolio ranging from health and finance, through to business and energy, Gillian has media trained high profile figures including Ministers, Chief Medical Officers and CEOs, preparing them for grueling TV interviews, set feature pieces and parliamentary committees, as well as working with the media daily on high profile and fast-moving stories.

Gillian works with each spokesperson to understand the journey of where they are now, and where they want to be, and what the narrative and positioning is to get them there, identifying the issues and sticking points that need navigating along the way. Gillian works with communicators to develop creative and meaningful key messages, delivered in an authentic voice, to have a lasting and memorable impact. Gillian’s expertise means that your spokesperson will be confident in what they are saying, the story they are telling, and how they are delivering it.

Gillian has an in depth working knowledge of government and the media and a communications accreditation from the Cabinet Office.

Tony O'Shaughnessy

Tony has been working as a media trainer for public and private sector clients for more than fifteen years. He worked as a newspaper journalist before joining the BBC as a trainee. He has produced hundreds of hours of live television news and radio programmes.

Tony O’Shaughnessy worked as a newspaper journalist before joining the BBC as a trainee. He produced hundreds of hours of live television news and radio programmes and series edited more than fifty television current affairs documentaries. Tony has been working as a media trainer for public and private sector clients for more than fifteen years. He is a lecturer in Broadcast Journalism at Cardiff University.
